Ethel Nagy Gabriel

On March 23, 2021, Ethel Nagy Gabriel died aged 99. She was music producer and record executive, known as the first female producer in the music industry. She produced more than 2500 albums, winner of “Grammy Award” in 1982, produced six Grammy winning albums, and “15 RIAA Certified Gold Records” hits. Among the others, Gabriel worked with Henry Mancini, Elvis Presley, Al Hirt, Roger Whittaker, Neil Sedaka, Eddie Fisher, Paul Anka, Dolly Parton and Perry Como.

Elliot Roberts

On June 21, 2019, Elliot Rabinowitz aka Elliot Roberts died aged 76. He was music manager and record executive, managing Tom Petty, Tracy Chapman, Bob Dylan, and The Cars, best known for helping to start and develop the careers of Neil Young (whom he managed for over fifty years) and Joni Mitchell.

Dick Rowe

On June 6, 1986, Richard Paul “Dick” Rowe, died aged 64. He was A&R man at “Decca Records” in the 50’s and the 60’s, became known to the wide audience “as the man who did not sign The Beatles”. Brian Epstein. The Beatles manager paid “Decca Records” one-hour audition. After the audition Rowe told Epstein “Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr. Epstein”.  But Rowe was actually one of the most successful producers and record executives in the 50’s and in the 60’s and he  signed to “Decca Records” many important artists including The Rolling Stones, Them (Van Morrison), The Moody Blues, The Tremeloes, The Zombies, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, The Brumbeats, The Tornados, Tom Jones and The Small Faces.
