On May 12, 2023, Francis Monkman died aged 73. He was musician (keyboards, guitar) and movie score composer, member of bands Sisyphus which evolved in Curved Air, and founding member of band Sky. He recorded and toured with Renaissance, The Shadows, Al Stewart, Lynsey de Paul, Phil Manzanera, Brian Eno and Brian Bennett. As leader, Monkman released 14 albums.

Mott the Hoople: The Hoople
On March 29, 1974, “CBS” label released “The Hoople”, the seventh and the last Mott the Hoople album. It was recorded January – February 1974, at “Advision Studios” and “AIR Studios” in London, and was produced by Dale “Buffin” Griffin, Ian Hunter and Pete “Overend” Watts. The album cover features a portrait of Kari-Ann Muller (also on the cover of Roxy Music’s 1972 debut album).
