Bert Weedon

On April 20, 2012, Herbert Maurice William ‘Bert’ Weedon died aged 91. He was musician (guitar), whose style of playing was popular and influential during the 50s and 60s. Weedon was the first British guitarist to have a hit record in the “UK Singles Chart”, in 1959. His “Play in a Day” guitar guide influenced some of the biggest names in rock and roll such as Eric Clapton, Brian May, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Dave Davies, Keith Richards, Pete Townshend, Tony Iommi and Jimmy Page. For his “services to music”, in 2001, Weedon was awarded an OBE.

Anchoress: Confession of a Romance Novelist

On January 15, 2016, “Kscope” label released “Confessions of a Romance Novelist”, the debut Anchoress aka Catherine Anne Davies album. It was recorded in 2015, and was produced by Catherine Anne Davies and Paul Draper. The album won HMV’s “Welsh Album of the Year”, “Best Newcomer” at the PROG awards.

Charles Aznavour

On October 1, 2018, Shahnour Vaghinag Aznavourian aka Charles Aznavour died aged 94. He was singer, lyricist, actor, public activist and diplomat, regarded as one of the most popular and respected French music artists. In his career long more than 70 years, he wrote and co-wrote 1000 songs, and recorded more than 1200 songs. In 1998, “CNN” named Aznavour “Entertainer of the Century”. In 2017, he was awarded star on the “Hollywood Walk of Fame”.

Nada Surf: High/Low

On June 18, 1996, “Elektra” label released “High/Low” the debut Nada Surf album. It was recorded in December 1985, and was produced by Ric Ocasek.
