In December 1967.

In December 1967, “Warner Bros” label released “Song Cycle”, the debut Van Dyke Parks album. It, was recorded in 1967 at “Sunset Sound Recorders” in Hollywood, and was produced by Lenny Waronker.

Lumpy Gravy

On August 7, 1967, “Capitol” label released “Lumpy Gravy”, the debut Frank Zappa solo album. It was recorded in February 1967, and was produced by Nick Venet. “Lumpy Gravy” is an album of orchestral, electric and concrete sound, performed by a group of session players Zappa dubbed the Abnuceals Emuukha Electric Symphony Orchestra. Zappa wrote the music and conducted the orchestra but did not perform on the album.
