In October 1981, “Geffen” label released the self-titled, debut Quarterflash album. It was recorded in 1981, and was produced by John Boylan. The album was certified platinum in the United States by the “RIAA”.

In February 1980, “Arista” label released the self-titled, debut Willie Nile album. It was recorded in 1979, at ”Record Plant” in New York City, and was produced by Roy Halee. “Stereo Review” magazine voted it (together with The Clash “London Calling”) “Record of the Year” for 1980.

On September 24, 1979, “Asylum” label released “The Long Run”, the sixth Eagles studio album. It was recorded March 1978 – September 1979, and was produced by Bill Szymczyk, Don Felder, Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit. “The Long Run” was certified 7 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.
