On September 25, 2007, “Verve” label released “River: The Joni Letters”, the fortieth Herbie Hancock studio album. It is a tribute album featuring cover songs written by Joni Mitchell. It was recorded 2006 – 2007, at “Avatar” in New York City, “Ocean Way” in Los Angeles, “600 ft” in Yorkshire, “NJP Tonstrudio” in Zürich, and was produced by Larry Klein and Herbie Hancock.
