On July 11, 1980, “EMI” label released “Searching for the Young Soul Rebels”, the debut Dexys Midnight Runners studio album. It was recorded in 1979 – 1980, at “Chipping Norton Recording Studios” in Oxfordshire, and was produced by Pete Wingfield. “The Guardian” ranked the album at number 93 on its list of the “100 Best Albums Ever” and “Melody Maker” ranked it at number 42 on its list of the “All Time Top 100 Albums”.
