On September 10, 1996, “Matador” label released “What Would the Community Think”, the third Cat Power studio album. It was recorded in February 1996, at “Easley Studios” in Memphis, Tennessee, and was produced by Steve Shelley.

It was recorded January – May 1995, at “Easley Studios” in Memphis, Tennessee, and “Mott and Greene Street Studios” in New York City, and was produced by Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon, Lee Ranaldo, Steve Shelley and John Siket.
