Caravan

On September 4, 1970, “Decca” label released “If I Could Do It All Over Again, I’d Do It All Over You”, the second Caravan album. It was recorded in February 1970, at the “Tangerine Studios” in London, and was produced by Terry Knight.

Personnel:

  • Pye Hastings – vocals, 6 and 12 string electric guitars, 6 string acoustic guitar, claves
  • David Sinclair – organ, piano, harpsichord
  • Richard Sinclair – vocals, bass guitar, tambourine, hedge clippers
  • Richard Coughlan – drums, congas, bongos, maracas, finger cymbals
  • Jimmy Hastings – saxophone, flute

John Mayall And The Bluesbreakers: Crusade

Crusade

On September 1, 1967,”Decca” label released “Crusade”, the third John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers studio album. It was recorded on July 12, 1967, at the “Decca West Hampstead” studios, and was produced by Mike Vernon.

Dick Rowe

On June 6, 1986, Richard Paul “Dick” Rowe, died aged 64. He was A&R man at “Decca Records” in the 50’s and the 60’s, became known to the wide audience “as the man who did not sign The Beatles”. Brian Epstein. The Beatles manager paid “Decca Records” one-hour audition. After the audition Rowe told Epstein “Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr. Epstein”.  But Rowe was actually one of the most successful producers and record executives in the 50’s and in the 60’s and he  signed to “Decca Records” many important artists including The Rolling Stones, Them (Van Morrison), The Moody Blues, The Tremeloes, The Zombies, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, The Brumbeats, The Tornados, Tom Jones and The Small Faces.
