On November 22, 1968, “Pye” label released “The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society”, the sixth Kinks studio album. It was recorded October – November 1968, at “Pye Studios” in London, and was produced by Ray Davies. In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 255 on its list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of all Time”.
