On March 7, 2026, Joseph Allen “Country Joe” McDonald died aged 84. He was musician (acoustic guitar), singer, song-writer and political activist, best known as co-founder and lead singer the band Country Joe and the Fish. Country Joe performed solo as well as with Country Joe and the Fish on Woodstock Festival. As leader he released 20 studio and six live albums.
